On April 19 – 22, New Orleans’s Ernest Morial Convention Center hosted the 2010 IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Convention and Exposition which is the utility industry’s largest bi-yearly tradeshow. With over 11,000 people in attendance, MacLean Power Systems debuted their new message – “Find the Answers with MacLean Power Systems,” meaning MPS is a single source solution not only for products but services as well.
The IEEE committee, headed by Paul Lindemulder, Marketing Services Director, along with his staff and key marketing and sales personnel, spent numerous hours over the last several months preparing for the April show. This year’s MPS booth showcased our full capabilities, highlighting several new innovations in our products, supply chain and engineering fields. The 2010 IEEE PES T&D Convention was also the unveiling of the new APEX Insulator Systems brand for our non-ceramic silicone rubber transmission insulators as well as the addition of polymer and porcelain cutouts to our family of products.
In addition to our product lines, the MacLean Power Systems’ booth was equipped with four computer kiosks to use for product and engineering demonstrations, as well as other multimedia projects including PowerPoints, videos, and online interactive programs.
But it wasn’t all business at the convention this year, as the MPS booth also feature a Money Booth, voted by T&D World Magazine as the “Best Booth Toy” at the show. During the course of the convention, attendees were given the opportunity to enter a raffle; if their name was called, they were given 90 seconds to grab as much cash as they could. MPS partnered with Ballyhoo Mobile to send out mobile messages to the attendees on products, demonstrations and the time when the next raffle drawing would be held. The raffle and the mobile messaging were a resounding success for MPS and made them the hit of the show.
2012 IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Convention and Exposition will be held on May 7 – 10 in Orlando, Florida.
